FULL ITINERARY

Day 1  - Arusha

Met and assisted by Africa Journeys representative on arrival Kilimanjaro Airport.  Transfer to your lodge located on the spot where the legendary 1960 film ‘ Hatari ‘ starring actors John Wayne and Hardy Kruger was set.  This beautiful designed lodge on the slopes of Mt Meru is the creation of a young adventurous couple , Marlies and Jorg Gabriel, who fell in love with the land that faces the slopes the peaks of Mt Meru and Kilimanjaro and is often frequented by giraffe , buffalo , impala and other wildlife.

Day 2 - Arusha

Enjoy great hospitality and excursions to Arusha National Park including MomellaLake and Ngurdoto Crater.

Day 3 – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara Tree Lodge. This sublime lodge with 10 stilted tree houses nestled in the boughs of mahogany trees is the only accommodation inside the park that is renowned for elephants , flamingo and tree climbing lions. Enjoy unsurpassed ambience , service and game activities. Meals and overnight at Lake Manyara Tree Lodge ( LDBB)

Day 4  - Lake Manyara National Park

Day spent in Lake Manyara National Park with morning and afternoon game drives.

Day 5  - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After final game drive and breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world. Its enduring charm stems from its overwhelming physical beauty and the abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor.  Arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge for lunch.  Once the site of the British Governor’s private hunting lodge, the supremely glamorous and wonderfully stylish lodge perches on the rim of the ancient volcanic crater, one of the wonders of the natural world.

Day 6  - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After early breakfast, descend on the crater floor for half day game drive.  Return to your lodge for lunch.  Afternoon at leisure.

Day 7  - Serengeti National  Park.

 After breakfast, drive to Manyara for your flight to the private Grumeti Reserve bordering Western Serengeti National Park. The new Sabora Camp, overlooking a vast sea of savannah grasslands, is perhaps the finest camp in Serengeti with exclusive access to prime game viewing areas. Guests sleep in beautifully decorated, air-conditioned tents, enjoy guided foot safaris and game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, indulge in fine cuisine and wines, and have access to a bush spa, plunge pool and an improvised tennis court.

NB: At certain times of the year (between October to January), Kleins Camp may be preferred due to its proximity to the wildebeest

migration returning from Kenya into Tanzania.

Day 8 -  Serengeti National  Park

Morning and afternoon shared game drives.  Meals and overnight at Sabora Camp / Kleins Camp (LDBB)

Day  9 -  Serengeti National  Park

Morning and afternoon shared game drives.  Meals and overnight at Sabora Camp / Kleins Camp (LDBB)

Day 10 -  Selous National Reserve.

Today, fly to Sand Rivers Lodge in Selous Game Reserve, Africa's largest protected wilderness area. Stunningly perched on the banks of the Rufiji River, Sand Rivers delivers the ultimate off-the-beaten-path adventure in Tanzania - from 4x4 game drives and foot safaris with fly camping to boat safaris and fishing on Rufiji River.  Dinner and overnight at Sand Rivers Lodge (L-DBB)

Day 11 -  Selous National Reserve.

Morning and afternoon game drives –including activities.  Meals and overnight at Sand Rivers Lodge (LDBB)

Day 12 -  Selous National Reserve.

Morning and afternoon game drives –including activities.  Meals and overnight at Sand Rivers Lodge (LDBB)

Day 13 - Dar Es Salaam / Depart

After breakfast, fly Selous to Dar Es Salaam for your homeward bound flight.
